Sunday Social #66 - Fall is coming!

1. What is your favorite fall activity?
Riding my bike and not sweating my face off the whole time. Doing craft shows. Watching the trees change colors, leaving the windows open when I fall asleep at night. Oh, and watching football, which is why the next question is fun!

2. Do you follow a football team? If so, which one and why?
Born and raised in Green Bay, I am definitely a Packers fan. I am hoping that this season is just as entertaining as the last season was, without as much disappointment!

3. What is something fun about fall in your area?
All of the aforementioned things. Wisconsin is a big, big state for football, and we definitely all have something in common as far as that goes. I just like watching the leaves change and getting back into craft shows.

4. What are your favorite fall staple outfits?
Lots of black (as usual) with pops of fall colors like mulberry, dark orange, and dark green. And boots! I love my boots.

5. What things are you looking forward to most about this coming fall season?
More than likely getting back into craft shows. I did a couple over the summer months, and it just didn't go as I was expecting it to.

6. What is your favorite fall holiday? Tradition?
Halloween and Thanksgiving, for sure. It's great to get out of town for a weekend and go see my family, too.

The return of Sunday Social! #65

The Sunday Social blog posts have been something I've always loved to do - and I am really excited to bring them back! So, enjoy!

1. What was your favorite trip/vacation/activity this summer?

I would say, without a doubt, my Dayton trip. I need to be a lot better at getting out and going on adventures (even if it's by myself), and it was exhilarating to be able to get out of town for even a few days. I got to see my best friend, eat great food, and go do something fun that was out of my comfort zone. It was a great adventure, and being able to pay respects at the Air Force Museum and see some great fireworks. And, like I said earlier, being able to try a Red Velvet shake at Steak N Shake for the first time ever (we don't have them here), almost made the whole dang trip worth it!

2. What was your favorite outfit look/clothing item of the summer?
Honestly, I don't think I even bought new clothes this summer, besides a few pairs of jeans that were a smaller size than my previous pairs! :)

3. What is one thing you wish you’d gotten to do this summer?
It has really been a perfect summer full of ups and downs, and I can't say that I would ever change anything that happened. I wish I would have gotten to adventure more!

4. What was your favorite song of the summer?
This is a bad question, since I don't listen to music via the radio, really. Most of the music I listen to is contained in about four Pandora stations, those being about 3 90's stations and one that mixes Tool, the Deftones, and other artists like that. I like listening to a song in my office at work and having one of my guys walk in and just shake their heads. That's my favorite.

5. What was your favorite movie/tv show of the summer?
That new True Blood season wasn't horrible. I'd say that was the 'newest' show I watched over the summer. And as for movies, does Star Trek: Into Darkness count?!

Check back next Sunday for another great set of questions!

Sunday Social Week 42: Springtime!

Sunday Social
1. What is your favorite thing about spring?
The weather warming up and being able to leave the house not bundled up like a penguin. I love watching the birds come back and the trees come back to life - not to mention simple things like seeing green grass and flowers after so many months of nothing but snow and salt everywhere.
2. What is your favorite kind of flower to grow or receive?
I don't know that I have a specific favorite flower! Receiving roses is always obviously a good thing, but I'm not picky. I would say that one of my favorite flowers has to be lilacs - as a kid, my parents had several lilac bushes in the backyard, and it was always so fun to go outside and pick them and put them inside the house for my mom.
3. What is your favorite nail polish color?
Usually a burgundy or black. I'm not too picky in that respect.
4. What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Riding my bike! I can't wait until it warms up so I can get back out.
5. Do you have any fun spring plans? Details!
Hopefully doing some more craft shows. Other than that, nothing too specific as of yet!

Sunday Social Week 41: Seasons

Sunday Social
1. What is your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?
If the mood strikes me and it's raining hard enough, sometimes I just go out and get rained on. Stomp in puddles, act like a kid. Otherwise, staying in and reading a good book is good enough for me.
2. What is your favorite thing to do on a summer weekend?
Get outside! I like to bike and be outside when it's nice out, no matter what I happen to be doing. Nighttime bonfires and barbeques are fun, only because it's great to be outside without a jacket on.
3. What is your favorite spring activity?
Anything outside where I don't have to wear a coat! After so many months of it being cold, it's just nice to drive around with the sunroof open or even just go out in a hooded sweatshirt.
4. What is your favorite way to spend a winter day?
Inside with a knitting project and a cup of hot chocolate.
5. What is your favorite season and why?
I like it when it's warm, but I also like winter - maybe because I'm a December baby. Winter brings all of the fun things we all look forward to all year - Christmas and New Year's. It's always fun to look forward to new beginnings.
6. What is the best birthday you've ever had?
Probably my 21st birthday. My parents brought me to Las Vegas and we spent a few days sightseeing and gambling - it was a great time!

Sunday Social Week 38: Taking It Back

Sunday Social

1. What was your biggest middle school fashion mistake?
In middle school, I had weird hair, but that won't ever beat this great hairstyle I had in high school:
"Who's that boy on the right?"
2. Who were your best friends in high school? Pics?
Laura was probably my best friend in high school. She's in the pic above, but there's a couple other good ones:

3. What was a typical weekend like for you in high school?
Probably working at any of the several jobs I had in high school: McDonald's, a call center, and a bead store.

4. Did you have any boyfriends/girlfriends? Tell us about that.
I had a few near misses, but nothing solid. Oh well.

5. Did you have any secret codes with your friends? Spill your secrets!
Not so much a secret code, but Laura and I had (and still have) a notebook called Da List, which is basically our version of the Burn Book from Mean Girls.

6. If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be?
The pep rallies were pretty fun. Other than that, I would probably relive my senior year in order to try a bit harder and do better.

Next week is Top 5s! Stop back!

Sunday Social Week 37: Valentine's Day

Sunday Social

I've taken a couple week break from the Sunday Social posts, mostly because I've been out of town the last two weekends for various reasons! But - here we go with questions for week 37 - all questions about Valentine's Day!

1/2. What is the best/worst Valentine's Day you've ever had?
I can't picture a Valentine's Day I've had that was the best or worst since it isn't really something I celebrate! Last year I did see City and Colour during Valentine's week, so that was pretty fun!

3. What did you do for Valentine's this year?
Worked all day and hosted a special Valentine's Day themed trivia show at night. I played bad 80's ballads and other assorted songs with love in the title.

4. What is your best Valentine's idea if you're single?
Going to Target the day after Valentine's and buying candy on sale. This year I bought a giant chocolate fish!

5. What is your favorite Valentine's candy?
This year, probably the Fun Dip Mystery Flavor! I think the flavor is either orange or kiwi-strawberry.

6. Favorite Valentine's memory from your childhood?
Making Valentine boxes in my classes in elementary school, and buying the perfect valentines to exchange with my classmates.

Next week, Sunday Social revisits middle and high school! Feel free to check back!

Sunday Social: Week 34

Sunday Social

It's been a long weekend, but not long enough to forget the Sunday Social. Here are this week's questions!

What is your ideal way to relax?
Reading a book or sitting in a bath for as long as I feel like. Best ways for me to decompress.

Where is your favorite place to be?
My apartment with my cat kids. Sometimes on a ride in the car - depends on the day!

Who do you consider your biggest role model?
My parents. They did the best they could to reach and raise me the best they could (even though I was a bit of a jerk growing up), and they did it the right way. I feel very lucky.

What does your life look like in 3 years?
Great! I'm hoping to stay in my current job, which I love, and have a more successful business!

If you could go back and change one decision, what would it be?
Not be a financial moron between the ages of 18 and 21.

What is your biggest accomplishment in life so far?
Never giving up.

More questions next week!

Sunday Social: Threes!

This is Week 33 of the Sunday Social blog hop, but I recently found out about it and always meant to do it - and sure it's a little bit late on a Sunday for a post, but I wanted to do it and not just think about it! I'm also doing next week's right away, so I won't have to worry about forgetting next week!

Sunday Social
The Sunday Social is hosted by Ashley Lately and A Complete Waste of Makeup, and as I said, I'll do my best to participate every week going forward! This week's questions were all related to threes, so here goes!

1. Top 3 favorite kinds of food?
For me, I always go for a pasta or Italian dish, followed by soup and/or grilled chicken. Those are my absolute, go-to favorites.

2. First 3 things you do in the morning?
Hit snooze about 4 times, brush my teeth/wash my face, and throw my hair up in the best five second ponytail possible.

3. Last 3 things you do at night?
Wash my face/brush my teeth, read a few chapters of whatever book I'm on, and usually fall asleep watching a true crime show or episode of Ghost Adventures.

4. TV shows you never miss?
I may not catch them right when they're on, but Justified, Sons of Anarchy, and Gator Boys (most recently) are usually waiting for me on my DVR. I have several guilty pleasures as far as TV shows go, but I'll wait for a different post for those! :)

5. 3 places you want to visit?
Australia is a place I have always wanted to go to, as well as California and another trip to Las Vegas.

6. 3 people you can always count on?
My dad, and my two best friends Tiffany and Laura.

My dad and I riding on a race car at a Christmas in July event in 2012.

Tiff and I on Milwaukee's lakefront!

Laura and I at my birthday party a couple of years ago. I had a couple.
Thanks for checking out my first Sunday Social post! Come back next week for more!
